Saumya Tandon (born 3 November 1985)[1][2] is an Indian television actress. She is currently playing the lead character of Anita in comedy series Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai! on &TV and also hosting Entertainment Ki Raat (Season 2) on Colors TV.

Career

Saumya Tandon is considered to be one of the most fashionable TV personalities in India.[5] She took up modelling assignments early in her career and was the 'Femina Cover Girl' 2006[6] Tandon took up modelling assignments early in her career. She was 'Femina Cover Girl' 2006. She co-hosted Zor Ka Jhatka: Total Wipeout (based on the Wipeout format) with Shah Rukh Khan in 2011.[7][8][9] She has hosted Dance India Dance for three seasons for which she got 'Best Anchor' award too. She co-hosted Bournvita Quiz Contest along with Derek O'Brien for three seasons.[10] In Imtiaz Ali's Jab We Met, starring Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor, she played the role of Kareena's character's sister Roop.[11] She also hosted 'LG Mallika-e-Kitchen' for three seasons.
In 2015, Tandon started playing the role of 'Anita' on comedy serial Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hai!. She is also known as ‘gori mem’ from the serial.[12] In 2018, she hosted Entertainment ki Raat Season 2 on Colors TV.[13]
She has hosted TV shows from all genres like Dance Reality, Comedy, Chat Shows, Quiz, Cookery & Adventure. She hosted the first three seasons of Dance India Dance for which she got 'Best Anchor' award too. She co-hosted Zor Ka Jhatka: Total Wipeout (based on the Wipeout format) with Shah Rukh Khan in 2011.[7][8][9] She co-hosted Bournvita Quiz Contest along with Derek O'Brien for three seasons.[10]

Tandon born on 3 November 1985.[1][2] She grew up in Ujjain, where she also completed her graduation.[citation needed]

Personal life

Tandon is very reluctant to talk about her private life.[14] In 2016, she married her boyfriend Saurabh Devendra Singh.[3] Before marriage, she dated him for 10 years.[12] She is inspired by Akshay Kumar for his fitness.[12] She is very strict when it comes to troll and likes to block those who post negative comments.[12] She likes to wear different style of cloths. She told this by saying:
We see on TV is that actresses wear the same kind of saris, but the colours keep changing. They look as if they are in a manufacturing unit. However, I have kept my outfits quite distinct from each other. There is no over dressing... I just follow one mantra, 'less is more'.[15]
In 2017, Tandon gave the statement to support Sonu Nigam for his azan controversy by saying:
You don't need to scream and trouble others to prove how religious you are. Sonu Ngam agree.[16]
Tandon became the victim of bogus profile and she took legal action against the bogus Twitter account.[17]
